Apparently, SLS stands for ‘Seeing Life Sideways’, but once you’ve sauntered up the red carpet (yes, really!) past the super-cool Tres Restaurant and been greeted by the delightfully efficient staff on the front desk, you could be forgiven for thinking that the real meaning is, ‘Superlative, Luxurious and Stunning’! Part of the Starwood Hotel chain’s Luxury Collection, SLS Hotel, Beverly Hills is more than just a place to stay, it’s a totally hip experience intended to make you feel like a star.
Designed by Philippe Starck this hotel is a hang-out for the glitterati of Beverley Hills and is definitely 'A Place to be Seen', where even the staff members are stunning. Dine at The Bazaar™ by José Andrés – an indoor piazza offering a range of ‘dining experiences’ including crazy and unique tapas that tease your tastebuds at Rojo y Blanco (highly recommended, but book in advance) or take things down a notch with some high-end chic at Tres.
The pool area is, naturally, super-stylish and enclosed by large and extravagant picture frames and mirrors. The pool is only available to hotel guests, although cabanas (poolside tents) can be hired by non-residents for private parties.
The rooms are a haven of low-lighting and luxury, with huge mirrors dividing the space and creating a thoroughly relaxing environment. WiFi, in-room movies and 300 thread-count sheets come as standard. If your pooch is in need of a bit of pampering, too, you’ll be pleased to know that slim line dogs of up to 18kg are admitted.
All canine guests receive a personalized letter along with a bed, bowls for food and water, a ‘dog in room’ sign, and a complimentary welcome kit complete with doggy treat, clean up bags, a chew toy and personalized ID tags.

I loved the funky pool area, the restaurant, the comfy beds and feel of the place.
I feel this place is best suited to anyone looking for somewhere trendy to stay in LA.
